The game
What is Plant Path?
Plant Path is a free daily logic puzzle. You draw one continuous line from circle 1 through every numbered circle in order, filling every cell of the grid exactly once. It plays in the browser with no download or account, and as an app on iOS and Android.
How do you play?
Start at circle 1 and drag to draw a line. Pass through the numbered circles in order while filling every cell of the grid. The line can never cross itself, and on some boards it must flow around blocked rock cells or keep off a walled edge. The puzzle is solved when the line ends on the last circle with no empty cells left. The full rules have pictures.
Does every puzzle have exactly one solution?
Yes. Every board, daily and level alike, is generated and then proven to have a single unique solution before it is shown, so a solved board is never a lucky guess and every board can be reasoned out.
What are the rocks?
Rocks are blocked cells the line must flow around. They appear on the daily board on a weekly rhythm, none on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, two on Tuesday and Thursday, four on Friday and Sunday, and on the harder stretches of the level ladder from the thirties on.
What are the walls?
A wall is a thick stroke along the edge between two cells. The line may not cross it, but both cells still have to be filled. Walls appear on the high ladder, past level 40.
Is there a time limit?
No. Levels have no clock and no lives. The daily puzzle writes down your time when you finish and compares it with a par for that board, but nothing hurries you while you play.
What should I do if I get stuck?
Tap the hint under the board: it lights the next stretch of the correct path from the end of your line. You start with ten hints and can earn ten more by watching an optional short video. The strategy guide covers the habits that make hints unnecessary: read the corners first, never seal off an empty region, and count the cells between one circle and the next.
The daily, the league, the garden
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. One shared 7×7 board, named by its date, is generated for every player in the world, and everyone solves the same one. It can be played once a day, and it opens at level 15. Come back daily for a new challenge. More on the daily puzzle page.
Can I play a daily I missed?
No. Each daily board belongs to its date. Your streak counts any board you solve on a day, a level as much as the daily, so a missed daily does not break it as long as you played. The level ladder is always open for more puzzles.
What is the league?
A 24-hour race for points that opens after you finish level 24. You share the table with forty-nine regulars, a permanent cast that is part of the game rather than other players online, and every solve banks points. A top-three finish earns a gift box. See the league and the garden.
How do I earn gift boxes, and what is in them?
Every tenth level, playing seven days in a row, and a top-three league finish each earn a box. Boxes hold pots and plants for the window-sill garden on the menu, and characters and frames for your league avatar. A box never drops something you already own.
Pots, plants and the garden
How do I change the pots and plants?
Tap the window scene on the menu screen. That opens the studio: two rows of five buttons laid out the way the sill is, plants along the top and their pots along the bottom, positions 1 to 5 from left to right, each button showing what that spot is wearing now. Tap a button to open that position's wardrobe. Everything you own for it is drawn at the front; tap one and the scene above changes at once. Every change saves as you make it, and Back returns you to the sill.
You can also dress a prize the moment it arrives. When a gift box opens on a pot or a plant, the reveal card offers Equip, which places it on its position straight away. Continue keeps it on the shelf for later; it will be waiting in the studio.
Why are some of the items locked?
Behind the pieces you own, the wardrobe shows every drop still waiting in a gift box, each as a plain lock so it keeps its secret. Tap a lock and it tells you where that item comes from. A prize is won for one particular position, so the second spot's crimson bloom is a different drop from the third's. Gift boxes come from every tenth level, playing seven days in a row, and a top-three league finish, and a box never drops something you already own.
Can I change the sky behind the window?
Yes, in the same studio, under the sill. The sky dial offers Auto, Morning, Noon, Evening and Night. Auto follows the clock on your device, so the window brightens and dims through the day; pick a time and it stays that way. There is nothing to own here, and the choice is saved with the rest of your garden.
Playing and saving
Does it work offline?
The apps play fully offline. The web game runs entirely in your browser once the page has loaded; nothing about a puzzle needs a server.
Where is my progress saved?
On the web, in your browser's storage on that device; clearing the site's data clears it. In the apps, on the phone and also in the cloud, iCloud on iOS and Google Play Games on Android, so a new phone picks up where the old one left off. There is no account in either case.
Is Plant Path free?
Yes. It is free to play in any modern browser and free to install on iOS and Android.
Are there ads?
Yes, once you are past the first ten levels. The apps show a small banner and an occasional short ad between levels, and the web game may show an occasional ad between levels too. Videos for extra hints and extra gift boxes are always your choice. The apps offer a one-time Remove Ads purchase that turns the banner and the between-level ads off for good.
Is Plant Path similar to LinkedIn's Zip?
Yes. Both are single-line path puzzles with the same core rule, and you can play Plant Path without a LinkedIn account. The comparison lays out the differences. Plant Path is an independent game by AppWave LLC and is not affiliated with LinkedIn.
